As one of the local Madison AL photographers, I’m sharing some of the frequently asked questions regarding family photography. As a Huntsville family photographer I offer 1 package that includes up to 60 minutes of shooting, 1 location, 1 outfit, and 20+ images. In addition to this family session package I also offer milestone and maternity sessions for families. I also specialize in offering personalized experiences for graduating seniors. The details on my family sessions can be found here.
As a Madison AL photographer, my biggest tip that I communicate with clients for planning outfits is to coordinate but don’t match. The only exception to this is if you are specifically wanting photos with everyone in the same outfit. For example, the classic white tee and jeans family photos. For all other sessions I recommend starting to coordinate outfits by selecting a color scheme that includes 2-3 colors. Some great ways to coordinate without matching are to include subtle patterns, select outfits that add some texture, and consider different shades of the color. I have an entire blog post on choosing the perfect outfit for your family session that can be viewed here!
As one of the local Madison AL photographers I offer family portrait sessions that include up to 60 minutes of shooting. Up to about an hour session tends to be the perfect amount of time for kids to warm up to the camera without the session being too long.
If you have younger children you might feel a little overwhelmed by family photos. Some ways you can help to prepare young children for family photos is by bringing along some toys they enjoy playing with, water, and snacks. When packing snacks to bring for your family session try to bring snacks that are not messy to avoid staining outfits. Some good options to consider are apples, cheese sticks, or crackers. Another important thing to consider with young children is that their outfit is comfortable and suitable for the weather. If it is cold outside be sure to bring along a jacket.
You will receive your edited images back within 30 days of the session. A link is emailed to you where you will be able to view your edited images. The link will allow you to download your images so they can be shared online and printed where ever you would like!
Yes!!! I will guide you through your entire session. Throughout your session I will guide you and your family through prompts to create beautiful images and capture genuine personalities.
As a Madison AL photographer specializing in family photography some of my favorite locations are Big Springs Park, Downtown Huntsville, Blevins Gap, and Hays Preserve. Each location offers a different backdrop to your images. Not sure what location is best for you and your family? Don’t worry I’m happy to discuss the options with you so we can pick the location that will suit your family the best.
