The weather is beautiful, there’s goreogous golden light, and it’s the perfect time to get family photos for holiday cards. Many families around Huntsville are looking to book family sessions around this time of year to have updated family pictures that can be hung in their homes and used on their holiday cards. The weather is also perfect for a comfortable outdoor family session.

The best months for fall family photography in Huntsville are October and November. These are also the busiest months for photographers though. If you plan to book a session in October or November it is best to plan in advance especially if you are wanting to work with a specific photographer. It is hard to plan for the exact time, but sometime in October and November also brings out the fall colors to have in the background of your family photos.
How Location & Light Affect Your Session Timing
The location and light can greatly affect the time of your session. Depending on when you book your session the sunset could be setting pretty early in Huntsville for fall sessions. When we set the clocks back the sunset can start to be around 4:30pm. This results in sessions being a lot earlier in the afternoon because it gets dark so early. If you have young children that could be great news!! Fall sessions help to still get that golden fall light while also being able to have the session take place well before bedtime.
