If you are starting to consider booking a family portrait session you might be starting to wonder how much planning and time is needed to get your family photos. Having family photos done can be stressful. A family portrait session can feel overwhelming between finding the right photographer, booking, planning outfits, and preparing children for the session. I strive to create an easy stress free process from when you inquire to when you receive your gallery. If you are a planner, like me, you might be wondering what goes into a family portrait session. Since you have come to this point then you’ve already done the first step of searching for the right family portrait photographer for you. If you are looking for a natural light, bright, family centered photographer then you’ve come to the right place.
The first step to booking a family portrait session is simply inquiring with me. You can inquire by simply sending me a message with the type of session you are interested in booking and a little bit about your family. I would love to have the opportunity to not only capture photos of your family, but also truly get to know you and your family. I’d love to hear about your kids personalities or how you and your spouse met. Getting to know your family helps me to be able to serve you better to capture everyone’s personalities in your family photos.
For information on the sessions I offer and investment details you can click here. Once you inquire about booking a family portrait session I will respond back to you with a complete booking guide. My booking guide includes all the details from investment, locations, FAQ, dates available to book and more.
Once you have had a chance to review the booking guide then the next step is to book your family portrait session. If you have any questions after reviewing my booking guide please reach out to me. If you are ready to book you are able to simply select a date to book within my booking guide. You’ll then be sent a contract and a 50% deposit will be required to fully secure your date. Once those are completed then we get to start the fun of planning your session.
The next step for your family portrait session is to plan for your session. Planning includes planning your family’s outfits, hair, and makeup. I will also send you a session guide once you have booked. The session guide includes some tips and things to know before your family session.
The day has come for your family portrait session. We will arrive on location at our scheduled session time. I will offer you prompts and posing suggestions during your session. There’s no need to worry about how to pose for your session. I will guide you through your entire session. I like to shoot some posed photos and also give prompts to let your natural personalities shine through your photos. My goal is for you all to have fun and be eager to see your family portraits.
After your family portrait session you will receive an email from me within 30 days of your session with a link to your family portraits. You will have the rights to digitally download your images and print them where you choose. I do recommend you print directly through the link provided for the best quality, but you do have the ability to print your images elsewhere if you choose.
Once you receive your family portraits be sure to print them to hang throughout your home. Your family portraits can be a great addition to a family gallery wall in your home, family photo for your office, gifts for grandparents, or Christmas cards.
